Glenwayne Suchit
President
Good day, fellow pharmacists. It is my honor to introduce myself to you.
My name is Glenwayne Suchit, and I am a candidate in the upcoming 2024 Pharmacy Board Elections.
I have been a registered pharmacist for 38 years. My career began as a Company Pharmacist/Medical Representative at Sterling Drugs Intl, where I served for two years, followed by a similar role at Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Belgium, through Oscar Francois, also for two years. I then progressed to the position of Company Pharmacist and Pharmaceutical Manager at A.A. Laquis Ltd for eight years.
In addition to my corporate roles, I have assisted and advised the owners of Optima Pharmaceuticals in launching and developing HEALTH 2000 in Trinidad and Tobago. I have also dedicated five years as a Lecturer for the Pharmacy Technician Program at the Trinidad Institute of Medical Technology, prior to the COSTATT program.
Furthering my expertise, I am a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate from Chicago, Illinois, USA, and hold a Diploma in Advertising, Marketing, and Public Relations from the University of London.
Currently, I serve as the President of the Private Pharmacy Retail Business Association (PPRBA) and am the owner of PCL Pharmacy in San Juan.
My diverse background also includes 13 years in Construction and Real Estate Development, prior to COVID-19.
With my vast experience, knowledge, skills, and capabilities, I am confident in my suitability for a position on the Council of the Pharmacy Board of Trinidad and Tobago (PBOTT).
My goal is to promote high standards of professionalism, integrity, and camaraderie among colleagues, both public and private. I plan to work closely with the Ministry of Health and distributors to enhance all aspects of our profession.
Furthermore, I am a former Vice President of the PBOTT, serving from 2010 to 2012, a period during which our profession incorporated all the major committees currently being suggested and proposed for 2024.
I am eager to bring my extensive background and commitment to excellence to the Pharmacy Board and look forward to the opportunity to serve our community.
Leah Sankarsingh-Ramnarine
Secretary
Leah Sankarsingh-Ramnarine is a registered pharmacist and managing director of Lisa’s Pharmacy Limited which had humble beginnings in the small town of Fyzabad in 1992. As a young woman she juggled a career as a pharmacist, business owner, wife and mother of two successful daughters. She also coached, mentored and empowered her staff to foster the teamwork that led to business growth. Leah is committed to lifelong education and training towards continuous improvement and innovation, graduating with an MBA at the age of 52. She is also committed to using her wealth of knowledge and experience to work together with her fellow pharmacists/ pharmacy owners to create a bright future for retail pharmacy.
Shazim Tullah
Treasurer
I am a dedicated pharmacist with 24 years of experience, having served both in the public health system for four years and in private practice. For the past 16 years, I have been the Managing Director of CouvaPharm Ltd.
I am an active member of the local Diabetic Association support group, demonstrating my commitment to community health and wellness. My passion for the pharmacy profession drives me to work tirelessly towards its advancement. I aspire to elevate the status of local pharmacists, ensuring they receive the respect and recognition and the profession as a whole become on par with the rest of the healthcare team.
Sarvy Ramroop
Director
I consider myself a humble and devout Christian, guided by my faith in all aspects of life.
Educationally, I hold a Diploma in Pharmacy, which has served as the foundation for my professional journey. I am the proud owner and pharmacist of Health Image Pharmacy, with two thriving branches located in Point Fortin.
My passion lies deeply in spirituality, which drives my desire to explore new business ventures to enhance financial stability. Over the years, I have delved into various enterprises, including food, clothing, real estate, stock trading, cryptocurrencies, and numerous MLM companies.
My long-term ambition is to achieve financial freedom, enabling me to dedicate my time entirely to spiritual pursuits. Currently, my focus is on collaborating with fellow pharmacists to bring about meaningful change and elevate our profession and business to a level where we all find true satisfaction.
In my leisure time, I enjoy gardening and visiting the beach, activities that bring me peace and joy.
